Megan will be playing the role of HAMLET in this current-day adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic HAMLET. When a former MMA fighter and Army Veteran returns from war in Afghanistan, she finds her mother dead, her father married to her aunt, and her inheritance at stake. Haunted by grief and propelled by revenge, Hamlet must face the ghost of her mother, along with the ghosts of Afghanistan, to enact justice within a community that has grown power-hungry and rotten.
‘Wicks and Hebert are in sync with each other and the story—Hebert as the protective and proud father (identified in the program as “H”), and Wicks as the strong, fearless, yet vulnerable daughter (identified as “M”), directed with the right blend of intensity and delicacy by Gail Dartez. Wicks is mesmerizing as she wears her internal emotional struggles on her tattered sleeves.’
“Rich Herbert and Megan Wicks discuss how her work was inspired by the Greek Tragedy “Electra” and placed in a Florida swamp setting. “The Arsonists” runs at Capital Stage through April 15 as part of a rolling world premiere.”
‘The more I think about this play, the more I appreciate it and want to see it again. That is not always the case, believe me. I’m glad somebody wrote this—specifically Jacqueline Goldfinger—and that Capital Stageencourages and performs such new works.’
One time B Street intern Megan Wicks, as the daughter, gets opportunities to shine, as well, as a feisty, socially awkward girl who doesn’t have much of an independent social life. But eventually, after a fire goes wrong in a bad way, the dad urges his daughter to get out of the family business, and put away the matches and the gas can.

“…with femme dynamo Wicks delivering a heated monologue that clearly transcended memorized lines, piercing directly into the realm of heartfelt passion.”

“Megan Wicks plays a take-over bartender who fills in admirably for those guys, now gone. Her talent shines as she swaggers around, making the world anew for women.”

”A broken heart and a baby shower. Sounds like a lighthearted Sunday. Actually it's Saturday, but will your Sunday be any different? All the boys are gone. It's our world now. So you better be "gettin it", girl. Or else.”
Join us as 3GT turns the tables on the venerable “Christmas in July” tradition with our all-new production of Southern Lights. It’s a blues-y tale of true love gone bad, success, and betrayal set in a down home east Texas bar (where else?) and told through the lens of country music—complete with the humor, torch-n-twang, real pathos and sentimentality the genre is known and loved for (boots and hat not required. . . )
From the playwright: “Thrilled to say that THE ARSONISTS will go international in 2019!! More info to come. Thanks for sharing your hearts and stories with us over the past year!”
